초록
Background: Revision surgery for recurrent hallux valgus is technically demanding due to scar tissue and altered bone anatomy from primary surgery. This study reports the outcomes of applying Minimally Invasive Distal Transverse Metatarsal Osteotomy – Akin Osteotomy (MITA) for recurrent hallux valgus.
Methods: Four patients presenting with recurrent hallux valgus deformity after previous bunion surgery underwent revision correction using the minimally invasive MITA technique.
Results: Radiographic alignment (HVA and IMA) and clinical symptoms improved markedly in all cases without soft-tissue or wound complications.
Conclusion: The MITA technique is a viable, less invasive revision option for selected patients with recurrent hallux valgus.
